The Carlo Erba Foundation is an entirely non-profit organization. The means of support for its activities consist in the revenue from the endowment fund set up by the founding members, which has grown over the years as a result of various additions, especially the annual contributions made by the sustaining members. It is the wish of the Carlo Erba Foundation to continue and augment its activity, to increase its support for young researchers, and above all to succeed in providing significant contributions to promising research projects, as set out in the Statutes. For all these reasons, it is hoped to increase the number of sustaining members (who undertake to make an annual financial contribution for a period of three years) and to receive further support from persons, organizations or companies which share the same aims as the Foundation and hold in high esteem the work of this private, independent and efficient institution that has earned international prestige in the promotion of the progress of science. The Foundation assigns prizes, scholarships and grants: the most widely known is the “Cecilia Cioffrese” Prize, awarded to promising young researchers in the fields of cancer and viral diseases.
